How does Team Trees work?

MrBeast called others on Twitter to plant more than 1,500 trees in two days.

But he has now partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation to launch the #teamtrees website, where fans can donate $1 for each tree to be planted.

Arbor Day Foundation is the largest nonprofit organisation dedicated to planting trees.

Their mission is to “inspire people to plant, nurture and celebrate trees”, Woody Nelson, the organisation’s marketing communications president said.

Within 24hours of the site’s launch, $100,000 was raised from fans and other YouTubers.

Currently 5.8million trees have been planted, and they hope to reach 20million trees around the globe by January 1 2020.

YouTuber Alan Walker was the latest YouTube star to make a donation.

He gave more than $100,000 to team trees on Saturday October 26.

Expressing his excitement on Twitter he said: “I just donated $100.001 to plant 100.001 trees!

“Great initative @MrBeastYT ! Lets spread the word and create a different world! If you want to contribute go to http://teamtrees.org  #TeamTrees.”
