SHOCKING video shows the moment a newborn baby is found after being abandoned inside a plastic bag in woods.
The baby girl, who has been dubbed India, was thought to be just a few hours old as she was still covered in blood and had her umbilical cord attached.
She was discovered by officers from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s office in Georgia on June 6 just after 10pm.
Cops had been alerted to the incident after a caller reported hearing a baby crying in the woods in Cumming, Georgia, 35 miles north of Atlanta.
The footage starts by showing the man who had made the call telling the police his kids had told him they had heard the sound of a baby crying but he had initially thought it was just an animal making a noise.
He’s asked: “How did you find it?” and the man replies that he heard the cries from his house.
An officer then reaches for the plastic shopping bag and rips it open to find the baby inside.
One officer is heard saying: “Oh look at you, sweetheart… Oh look how precious you are” while another wraps the baby girl in a cloth.
Bodycam footage of the discovery was posted on Facebook on Tuesday in a bid to find the true identity of the girl.
The crying infant was then taken to a local hospital where she was called India.
The baby is said to be “thriving” and currently in the care of Georgia’s Department of Family and Children Services.

It added it was “continuing to aggressively investigate and to follow leads” and added it had received tips from “across the county” about the possible identity of the baby.
At a previous press conference Forsyth County Sheriff Ron Freeman said it was “divine intervention that this child was found,” adding the area where the baby was discovered was sparsely populated and the family who discovered the girl had only just returned from a holiday.
Freeman added: “Thank God they went out and investigated that, and immediately called 911.”
