A HUGE blaze has erupted in San Antonio harbour in Ibiza, say eyewitnesses.
Video footage of thick black smoke pouring out of the area has been shared on social media, as locals claim a tourist hotel is on fire.
One eyewitness, Melanie Baldwin, tweeted that there is a “large fire in San Antonio Bay in Ibiza.
“Planes and helicopters are using water to try and [get it under] control.
“Hope everyone staying closer than us [to the blaze] are safe.”
Another person who filmed water being dumped on the blaze, as firefighters tried to extinguish it, said that it “looks like the fire started around 3.45pm.
“There were airplanes trying to put the fire out. I don’t know the exact location.”
Huge plumes of thick black smoke could be seen drifting across buildings in the bay.
DJ-producer Bobby Harvey, who has been DJ-ing at Ibiza Rocks Bar, tweeted: “Ibiza is on fire! Not good!”
San Antonio is a thriving resort and a popular destination for holidaymakers wanting to enjoy a handful of beaches along its sandy stretch in the Mediterranean.
