The extravagant home was built in the 1930s, designed by architect James E Dolena.
For many years it hosted US royalty and politicians, before it was bought by the hotel chain Conrad Hilton for £175,000 in 1950.
Fifty years later the US financier Gary Winnick, bought it for £73million.
At the time it was the most ever paid for a home.
H FOR HEAVEN
The property has a H-shaped design, so lucky homeowners will enjoy a view from all 60 of its rooms.
To make use of the space, designers added a tennis court, basketball court, a pool, a guest house, greenhouses, koi ponds and a rose garden to keep the homeowners occupied.
Mr Winnick and his wife re-designed the property after purchasing it, and made sure to include wood panelled walls embellished with geometric patterns.
The pair hired a team of 250 people to ensure the estate was properly restored.

Describing the newest owner, Jeff Hyland, who works with Conrad Hilton’s grandson Rick, told the Los Angles Times: “We don’t expect it to be someone who just made their money in tech on an IPO and is 29 years old.
“It’s going to be someone who is sophisticated, someone who is a world traveller, who has homes in other places around the world.”
